Terry’s interest in the music industry began around twelve years old, 1991, in the Midlands, UK. Watching rock bands on TV performing in packed out stadiums, playing their own songs quickly triggered his desire to do just that. Having had no formal musical training, Terry saved up for his first guitar and started learning chords, piecing them together to create original, albeit simple, songs to play in his school band Dialysis. Occasionally taking on the roles of drummer and bassist as well as full time singer, his multi instrumental skills were rooted early on. The boys paid out to record their first demo at The Lodge Recording Studio in Northampton, laying down six tracks in ten hours, an experience which further enthused Terry’s love of the industry. Continuing Terry's newfound passion for music and music recording, he went on to record further tracks at Far Heath Recording Studio in Ravensthorpe.
By school leaving age, Terry had gigged locally with the band throughout it’s two years, but felt the need for more than just local notoriety. Over the next few years he formed, wrote for and rehearsed tirelessly with nu-metal band Autonomy. Booking gigs nationally, recording a killer demo CD at Parlour Studios in Corby and networking constantly, Autonomy were approached by two record labels. Vying for the rock/metal band’s attention were major label Columbia and independent British label Earache Records, both looking for a piece of the young band’s action. Signing a full publishing and recording deal with the latter, Autonomy went on to record an album and tour extensively.
Choosing to leave the band to concentrate on furthering his own personal progression, Terry relocated to the South of England in 2001. He began to work with other independent artists, writing, developing and producing tracks. Encouraging young artists out into the industry he began to take a more business orientated role. At the same time, Terry auditioned musicians to form a new rock band ‘The Line Divide’ who produced healthy back-catalogue of songs, a five track EP and played many live shows across the south of the UK until the younger members of the band moved on to formal music education elsewhere.
During a break from performing, Terry took advantage of the time out by promoting bands both nationally and internationally, accepting demo submissions and writing music reviews for bands across the UK, Europe and Africa. After a period of being consistently contacted to help promote bands, Terry began to run a weekly featured band page online, which saw thousands of views and was regarded as a trusted point of contact for quality up and coming bands.
Stars Driven by Devils became the result of a collaborative project with a friend and fellow vocalist. The pair had a vision where a high calibre of musicianship would be grouped together to produce a unique and energetic progressive hardcore band. The six piece outfit went on to play shows with some high profile names in the metal scene (Soulfly, Will Haven, Malefice) as well as a European tour.
Whilst the band was successful in it’s goal, Terry felt his songwriting had taken a backseat, so made the decision to leave. Over the next year, Terry completed a formal course in DJ skills and music technology at Brockenhurst College, Hampshire, gaining practical knowledge in a recording studio environment using Logic Pro software and Mac based audio sampling. It was a t this point that Terry pieced together equipment on a tight budget to build his first home studio in order to progress not only his catalogue of songs, but to provide a new challenge and new ground to test. Producing trance, electronica and chill out, this period of experimentation was invaluable to him as a songwriter, composer, arranger and producer. Continuing to play acoustic music also, it was at this point Terry met his long-term writing partner and wife, Rachael.
The pair got together regularly to write and rehearse songs to perform at intimate shows and open mic nights. Proving themselves as a successful team, Terry and Rachael were enlisted to book, manage and host an twelve hour live acoustic stage for a local five thousand capacity festival, which they ran for three consecutive years.
In 2012 Terry and Rachael launched creative arts publication parkCulture magazine with Terry in the role of music features editor. The position comprised of finding new south coast based bands and musicians, writing full music reviews for the publication, compiling live music event listings, curating a collection of hard copy unsigned music for sale from their music & art gallery as well as managing, hosting, filming & editing live acoustic sessions and interviews with active musicians in the area.

In a bold move, Terry and Rachael decided to pool their skills writing for an inexperienced pop singer in the UK. Also backing up the act musically, Terry played percussion whilst Rachael took on backing vocals. Shona Lowe exploded onto the scene to an immensely positive reaction, encouraging further development in the form of demos, videos and tour planning. Comments were being made regularly on the quality of the songs and the live performance and musicianship of the act.
