Stanford Road are a UK Americana Country Folk Roots trio whose members are Rachael Muller (Vocals/ Guitar/ Mandolin/) Terry 'Blackjaz' Muller ( Guitar & Vocals) and Matt Street (Bass & Vocals). Noted for compelling harmonies and their 'no holds barred' style of narrative songwriting, the band set out in 2008 as a duo before adding Matt to the line-up early in 2015. Stanford Road are a wholly engaging, energetic and yet powerfully emotive outfit whose deeply personal music is performed with utter conviction.
After taking a short break from live performance, the band have been concentrated on creating yet more new material which they have crafted into a stunning new live show to be debuted in November 2017.
Their debut single 'Letters' was released in 2014 ahead of showcasing their musicianship on their first EP 'Open Ended' in February 2015, which included their original songs 'Independence Highway', 'So Wrong', and 'Fools Comfort'. The EP also included their stunning stripped back rendition of the Brooks & Dunn classic 'Cowgirls Don't Cry'. This was followed by a series of single releases including Love Outta Mind, He Sure Knew How To Party, Black Coffee and If You Want Me - all of which regularly receive worldwide airplay.
Blending both traditional and modern styles of Country & Americana influences into their music STANFORD ROAD are well on their way to carving themselves a niche on the UK's Country and Americana scene with their own style of stunning original songs.
Delivering their own unique blend of music and 'sumptuous vocal harmonies' right into the heart of Music City, the Rachael & Terry travelled in February 2015 to Nashville Tennessee to continue their ongoing ‘Open Ended’ tour. Performing at several well known venues in the city, and most notably at the legendary Bluebird Cafe. Stanford Road will be returning to the US in 2018.
- The successful songwriting partnership between Terry 'Blackjaz' Muller and Rachael Battistini has to date produced a diverse and truly eclectic catalogue of over 160 original songs.
- Both writers have worked with a variety of artists across many commercial genres including Pop, Alternative, Rock, Country & Folk and collaborate regularly with emerging artists.
- Terry was formerly signed to Earache Records as both an artist and writer, whilst in 2015 Rachael was noted as 'one to watch' by the Nashville Songwriters Association.
- Their lyrical and musical experience and compelling originality is evident in their latest Americana & Roots influenced work.
